A confidence interval is a range of values, derived from sample statistics, which is likely to contain the value of an unknown population parameter. The length of the confidence interval shows how confidence a number or a set of numbers is likely to lie within its range. The longer the length, the more confident it is. In this Bar Chart, Illinois has the narrowest confidence interval and Maine has the widest confidence interval.
